How to reorder pages in a PDF

Is the cover in the middle or an appendix before the report? Move existing pages without retyping their contents. Keep the original so you can compare the result.

When should you reorder pages?

Reordering moves whole pages, keeping their text and images together. Use it for scans assembled in the wrong order or to move appendices to the end. It does not update numbers already printed on the pages.

Example: move the cover to the front

A four-page PDF contains an introduction, results, a cover and an appendix. The cover is currently page three.

Move the third page to the first position. Check the final order: cover, introduction, results, appendix. All four pages should still be present.

What to check

This tool keeps every page; use the deletion tool to remove pages. Unlock protected documents first if required and only with permission. Large files may need more time and memory. Check internal links and signatures after any modification.

Where is the file processed?

This tool processes the document in your browser without sending its contents to the server for this operation. See the file processing page for other tools.

How your files are handled

Add numbers after reordering

If the document needs page numbers, add them once you have confirmed the final order. This avoids numbering a temporary arrangement.
