Privacy Policy
1. Overview
SnipPDF ("the site", "the service") offers a suite of tools for working with PDF files. This page explains, in plain terms, how your files and data are handled.
2. In-browser processing
Most tools process document contents locally in your browser, without sending them to our server for that operation. Your browser may still load resources needed to run the website.
3. Server-side processing
Compress PDF, OCR PDF, PDF to Word and Word, Excel and PowerPoint to PDF upload the document when you start processing. See How your files are handled for details of the files and settings sent. The service attempts to delete temporary files when processing ends, including after an error; an incident can prevent immediate deletion.
4. Audience measurement
We use Cloudflare Web Analytics to count visitors and see which pages are viewed. This service:
- Sets no cookies and stores nothing on your device,
- Collects only aggregated data (pages viewed, referrers, country, browser — never your IP in plain text nor any persistent identifier),
- Requires no consent banner.
No other analytics or third-party tracker is loaded.
5. Newsletter (optional)
If you subscribe to our newsletter:
- Your email is sent to Loops.so (US-hosted, GDPR DPA available),
- It is used only to send you site updates and announcements of new tools,
- You receive at most one email per month,
- Every email contains a one-click unsubscribe link; unsubscribing is immediate and erases your email from the list,
- We never share your email with third parties, and we do not use it for profiling or targeted advertising.
Subscription happens only via an explicit form (unchecked checkbox) — we never subscribe you without a deliberate action on your part.
6. Personal data
Outside of the newsletter (explicit opt-in), using the service requires no account, no email address, and no identifying information.
7. Retention
- Files processed in your browser: not retained anywhere but your device.
- Server-processed files: temporary file deletion is attempted when processing ends; an incident can delay deletion.
- Newsletter email: kept until you unsubscribe, then erased.
- Cloudflare Web Analytics metrics: aggregated, kept per Cloudflare's policy.
8. Your rights (GDPR)
Under the GDPR, you have the right to access, rectify, erase, restrict, port, or object to the processing of your personal data. For the newsletter, these rights are exercised via:
- Erasure / objection: click the unsubscribe link in any of our emails,
- Access / rectification / portability: send us a request via the Contact page.
