How it works
Every form field in the PDF is replaced by its current value, drawn as regular page content. After flattening, the values become part of the page and can no longer be edited or reset.
Common use cases
- Locking a filled-in administrative form (URSSAF, tax return, application) before sending it, so the recipient can't change the numbers.
- Freezing a signature placed in a signature field so it can't be removed by re-opening the form.
- Preparing a completed contract for archival — many archive systems require flattened forms.
Privacy
This tool runs entirely in your browser. Your PDF is never uploaded to our servers — the file stays on your device from start to finish.
FAQ
Do I need to flatten before sending a form?
It depends. If you want the recipient to still be able to edit, don't flatten. If you want the values to be locked (typical for signatures, payment amounts, dates), flatten first — the file stays a normal PDF, just no longer editable.
Does flattening reduce quality?
No. Field values are drawn using the PDF's own rendering — the result matches exactly what the form displayed on screen before flattening.
